Buffalo Show

Oyate Hotanin (“Voice of the People”) returns for another adventure, featuring Buffalo Weavers with Dakota elder poet and storyteller Strong Buffalo, and musical bike riding singer songwriter, Ben Weaver.  Buffalo Weavers will weave quest artists with live musical performances and storytelling by Change Narrative, to awaken the world to climate change and its impact and celebrate our ability to move to solutions (and have fun along the way!).

Special guests this month: The Witches, musical dance and poetry and Davu Seru, percussions.

Additional love and support by Pangea World Theater

Brake Bread Birthday #6

It's hard to believe it, but we've been in this beautiful little building baking increasingly delicious bread and pastries for 6 years! Micah and I (Nate) had no idea what we were getting into when we started this experiment 8 years ago but you and an amazing staff continue to help us figure it out and I'm so grateful to be supported by this community.

This Saturday, June 4, we're going to live it up! (Rain or Shine!)
We hope you can come join us for all or part of the fun.  We'll be closing off the parking lot so that we can all hang out with plenty of space. Feel free to bring camping chairs - we've got about 14 chairs, 15 counting my desk chair - and we've got 2 picnic tables. Abundance, baby!
Some highlights and details:

  • We've been joking that our patio is so posh that we should call it the Poshio. Hence, Mustachios and Pistachios on the Poshio. It's one hour dedicated to fancy talk about fancy things on our fancy pati... I mean, poshio. Mustaches will be provided at varying levels of commitment.

  • Tie Dye with Jodi - feel free to bring your own tshirt to tie dye. We'll have our shirts available for $10 and we'll also have $5 white bandanas available.

  • Bootstrap will be doing samples! Yum! That ones pretty self explanatory and we're super grateful that they'll be here.

  • Way Big Spin Art! Matthew GG Holm is a crazy talented artist and a huge supporter of Brake Bread and this neighborhood. A few years ago he built a bike powered spin art thingy and he's going to set it up for our b-day. Together we'll make some 2 - 4 foot circles of spin art that will end up decorating Brake Bread in some way down the road. Rock on!

  • Joe's gonna be around to do bike checks. You love Joe. You love your bike. You're gonna love Joe checking on your bike.

  • Ben Weaver concert in the woods! At 10:30 anybody that wants to gets to bike with Ben Weaver down to Crosby Farms Park (about 2 miles away, mostly downhill on the way there...) where he'll do an acoustic concert in the woods. Ben is such a freakin' great human. We're so stoked that you get to hear him play in his favorite setting. The plan is to bike back to the bakery by noon for the pizza party.

  • Pay What You Can Pizza Party - We're gonna crank out some delish and pizzas. Whole pies and slices, pay what you can, no one turned away for lack of funds. All profits will go to support the artists that are sharing their time with us on this heckuva great day
